How Does NASA Astronaut Take Pictures in Space
Posted by Nathan Gledson I was quite surprised with the setup. I know that they are bringing Nikon D2X in space. However, I did not expect such complications when it is to be used outside the space station.
The Nikon D2X is a standard one but the firmware is slightly customized and some lubricant modification is done. The white color thing is the White Thermal Blanke that house the Flash .
And in order to take pictures in low light condition, a modified Nikon SB-29 sync cord that allows them to use an auto focus illuminator in low light. There is no wireless transmitter in the setup.
And how does the pictures look?
