Ubuntu 10.04 Review

Well here we go again another release and another crease inline of all other Linux distributions, the latest release of Ubuntu is a major update and outbreak for Linux and social media as social media is one of the big key points in this release.
Not many Linux operating systems, i know integrate this and this is done stunningly well by the integration of gwibber, now where this is a big move for Ubuntu, it somewhat penalizes commercial operating systems, such as Microsoft’s, vista and windows 7, but as far as social media integration in windows, or should i say as close as social media integration gets to windows, which is as close as you would get to Microsoft making old windows free such as xp, which is highly unlikely.
I know you can get third party software for windows to do this, but wouldn’t it be nice if this was integrated by default? well if so, Ubuntu would be your best bet for an operating system that can do everyday tasks and more such as free applications and now social media integration.
But this is not all that the latest Ubuntu release has to offer? for one the booting, loading and shutdown timings are quicker then ever before, and with a massive face lift, in terms of a completely new theme and minor tweaks on your desktop, this makes this release of Ubuntu the best release yet by far.
Now for the small downsides, there is still a WPA/WPA2 issue with some ralink chipsets, but a small workaround is all that is needed, and it would also seem that for the 64 bit architecture, the beta flash integrated by default doesn’t work all that well for other sites using flash, mainly video sharing sites, even viewing youtube has its problems, but by doing the following you get more flash enabled side working, but still with the downside of certain functions on the youtube video player not always functional and working.
Workaround-got to terminal and copy and paste sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree and hit enter.
But happily it would seem for most standard 32 bit users this isn’t an issue, hopefully the developers for Ubuntu will rectify this issue in next coming updates.
Most applications from the previous release of Ubuntu work flawlessly in this release.
So overall i would give this Ubuntu release a nine out of ten, it would be nearly full marks if it wasn’t for the small downsides.
